1921 Steinway & Sons Model O Grand Piano | Ebony – Restored #207397 – Undergoing Restoration @ Chupp’s Piano Service, Inc. F irst introduced in 1900, the Model O measures approx. 5’10 1/2″ in length. These pianos were discontinued by Steinway New York in 1924 and were recently reintroduced in 2005. A common sight in both homes and institutions, these pianos bridge the gap between the smaller ‘baby’ and larger parlor-style grand pianos built by Steinway. Currently undergoing restoration, Steinway Model O #207397 ‘s action will been fully rebuilt with new, highest-quality parts. This includes new dimensionally correct wippens, and new hammers mounted on new shanks, and flanges. An inspection of the piano will conclude whether to install a new damper back action or restore the existing components. The action will be fully regulated and voiced by our technicians. New premium music wire and custom copper wound bass strings will compliment blued Klinke tuning pins. A new custom-fitted pinblock made of hard rock maple coupled with a new solid spruce soundboard will ensure stability and quality of tone.
