Boston GP-178 Ed. 2 w/ Player System EP

The Steinway Boston GP-178 5’10” Player Grand Piano is a variant of the popular Boston performance grand that adds an integrated player piano system, such as PianoDisc or a similar reproducing mechanism, giving the instrument the ability to automatically play back performances and enhance practice or entertainment options in addition to its acoustic capabilities. The base model, the Boston GP‑178, is a 5′10″ (178 cm) grand piano designed by Steinway & Sons and built in Japan (often by Kawai to Steinway’s specifications), and it features a wide‑tail design that increases soundboard area for richer tone and greater projection than typical pianos in its length class. Its construction includes a solid Sitka spruce soundboard, hard rock maple inner rim, and a lower string tension scale for longer sustain and a singing quality of tone, making it a strong choice for studios, homes, and advancing pianists seeking Steinway‑designed performance at a more accessible level. Adding the player edition lets the piano record and reproduce performances, combining acoustic tradition with modern convenience for learning and listening experiences.
