1925 Steinway & Sons M XR Grand TUX (Rebuilt)

A 1922 Steinway Model M is a 5’7″ grand piano from Steinway’s celebrated “Golden Era,” built in the New York factory and prized for its exceptional craftsmanship and musical character. Often referred to as a “medium grand,” the Model M is designed to bridge the gap between smaller baby grands and larger parlor instruments, offering a balanced combination of size, power, and tonal depth. Renowned for its warm, rich tone and responsive, expressive action, this model provides clear treble, a singing midrange, and a surprisingly full bass for its size. Typically finished in mahogany or satin ebony, these pianos also feature high-quality spruce soundboards, durable maple rims, and finely engineered action components, all contributing to their long-lasting performance and dynamic range. Ideal for homes, studios, and conservatories, a 1922 Model M delivers professional-level sound in a more space-conscious format, making it a favorite among serious pianists, educators, and collectors. When properly restored, it remains a versatile and highly musical instrument that reflects the enduring legacy of Steinway’s Golden Era design.
