2018 Bösendorfer "Dragonfly" Limited Marquetry Edition Artist Grand

As we’ve stated before, Bösendorfer is an icon in the piano world. Known for meticulous, uncompromising master craftsmanship since 1828, a Bösendorfer piano is a thing of beauty and function – elegant, artistic, and a joy to play. Still made in very small quantities in its original home city of Vienna, Austria, every piano has a fit and finish unlike any other manufacturer. You will understand that when you sit in front of one for the first time. We are extremely fortunate to have a rare, very limited edition — #2 of only 18 produced – Bösendorfer “Dragonfly” 6’ 7” artist grand on offer. It’s from a special collection known as the Marquetry Series. These pianos all feature elegant pastoral scenes of nature, inspired by the famous Schönbrunn Palace and gardens in Vienna. Begun in 2018, the “Dragonfly” was the fourth in the Marquetry line, preceded by “Hummingbirds” in 2013, the “Schönbrunn” in 2015, and the “Butterfly” in 2016. These were all very limited editions. The intricate marquetry work lives only under the lid, giving the piano a quiet, understated, gently opulent air that fills the visual space with class and quality. All this lovely woodwork is housed in a highly polished ebony quasi-Belle Epoque style cabinet, sans the intricate carved music desk, and a more harp-like curved pedal lyre. The instrument itself is a worldclass handcrafted Viennese performance grand, ideal for pianists who demand the absolute best.
