Yamaha G2 EP (Refurbished)

The Yamaha G2 is a classic 5’7″–5’8″ Japanese-built baby grand piano from Yamaha’s highly regarded G-Series, designed to deliver a rich, full sound in a size that works well for homes, studios, and teaching environments. Known for its consistency and durability, the G2 strikes a balance between performance-level tone and practical space requirements. Crafted with a solid spruce soundboard, the G2 produces a clear, resonant tone with strong projection and a warm, balanced character across the entire keyboard. Its medium-sized cabinet allows for a deeper bass response than smaller baby grands while maintaining clarity in the treble, making it suitable for a wide range of musical styles. Yamaha’s precision action is a defining feature of the G2, offering a responsive and even touch that supports both expressive playing and technical control. This makes it a popular choice among advancing students, teachers, and professional musicians looking for reliability and consistency. Typically finished in polished or satin ebony (with occasional walnut or white variants), the G2 also carries a timeless, elegant appearance. Many instruments on the market today are pre-owned models from the 1970s–1990s, often well-maintained and valued for their longevity and stable construction. Overall, the Yamaha G2 is widely regarded as a dependable, versatile grand piano that combines classic craftsmanship with a clean, articulate tonal profile—making it an excellent option for both serious practice and performance in mid-sized spaces.
