1917 Steinway & Sons OR Grand ES (Rebuilt)

This 1917 Steinway grand piano represents the height of the “Golden Age” of piano craftsmanship, a period celebrated for its exceptional materials, meticulous construction, and enduring musical quality. Built during a time when Steinway emphasized handcrafted precision, these instruments often feature luxurious Brazilian mahogany or rosewood veneers, along with finely detailed cabinetry, sometimes including ornate carving and period-inspired design elements. Steinway pianos are prized for their superior soundboards, typically crafted from high-grade spruce, and their robust rim construction, which together produce a powerful, warm, and resonant “singing” tone. When professionally restored, these pianos offer remarkable dynamic range, rich bass, and clear, expressive treble, rivaling many modern instruments. Highly sought after by pianists, collectors, and restorers, a 1917 Steinway grand embodies a unique blend of historical significance, artistic beauty, and world-class performance, making it both a functional concert instrument and a valuable piece of musical heritage.
